A 'First' and another 'First'

This was Kendall's 'First' time being a soccer coach (co-coach) and Jace's 'First' time in organized sports. What fun!!
As I shoved those little legs and shin guards into those looong socks, I thought, "This is what mommies do." I actually had my own little 'First' moment. The first of many sports activities and valuable lessons learned. Wasn't sure if I felt like crying or jumping up and down with excitment for him...a little of both.
This little guy just wanted to be out there with the big boys...not just yet 'short-stack'!
Once buckled in tight, Johnnie joined the other pint-sized spectator, little Gracie
Coach Tim conferring with his assistant

Kendall was so playful with the kids. He kept trying, unsuccessfully, to blow his whistle and the kids really got a kick out of it.
The coaches got the other daddies to help.
After the players would line up behind him, Kendall would then turn around facing them and say, "Silly kids, you should be behind me!" He did this several times to them. Jace thought it was funny.
Kendall cheering on Lucy in a drill called, 'bowling'.
Tim led the team in a 'winner's' chant to finish off practice. Good job guys!

*I know a good parent watches their kid the whole time, but I realized afterwards that I had been watching Kendall almost the whole time. He was so good with the kids; playful and patient, and of course, hoarse by the end of practice. To say that I'm proud of you would be an understatement.

I will never forget giving Jace a present in a soccer bag and he kept putting it on the ground trying to kick it - too cute! So glad he is playing the "best sport ever" (according to Ryan!). ;o)
I TOTALLY would have watched my husband most of the time, too!!
