While on one of our latest trips, we stopped at a convience store. Jace was told he could not get the "Big Grab" of chips, that he was already holding, but that he could get a smaller bag. His stubborn side flared and he said that he didn't want anything, then. We said o.k., and went to pay for our own things. As we walked away from Jace, he said, "I'm gonna get something but, dad, don't look and, mom, go (pushing me gently away)." As we obeyed, I peeked over the aisle and saw that little hand grabbing the smaller bag of funions. He joined us at the cash register a moment later with one hand behind his back. The cashier said that she needed to scan his "mystery item" to which Jace replied, "Mom, Dad, don't look." After assuring him we wouldn't and looking the other way, Jace hadned his chips to the grinning cashier who quickly scanned them and handed them back to our boy. When we turned back around to pay, Jace again stood with one hand behind his back. Looking very satisfied. To our further amusement, he led the way out the door, with the Funions still behind his back. As we walked to the car, Kendall casually asked, "What's behind your back, Jace?", to which Jace explained, "Nothing, I just loosed my hand."

Your stories are always so funny about Jace. You retell them so wonderfully that I feel like I was there and laugh out loud!
Thanks for sharing.
Funny! I enjoyed this.
LOL - he's a cutie!
